The big question is: when will GTT include the breakouts in the native app instead of a webRTC browser based solution which means a break in the medium and causes a lot of trouble. They’ve already implemented hand raising. We are familiar with Zoom but our company would not allow us to use it on the network. We are having similar issues – on a continual basis. We have stopped using the breakouts in GoToTraining because it doesn’t work!

Audio seems to be “muted by organizer” so nobody can unmute. And sometimes organizers end up in breakout rooms. Webcam use is spotty, at best. I think we may have to drop our GoToTraining license! It’s very expensive and doesn’t work well. We are having better luck with GoToWebinar as far as technology – LogMeIn seems to be focusing on upgrading that platform while ignoring GoToTraining – I hope that somebody from the company is listening.

If during your meeting breakout rooms are not working as expected, the following may be the cause: Inconsistent email addresses: The participant’s meeting invitation reflects a Zoom account email address different from the one that they are joining from e. If you think the person hosting the meeting muted you, send them a message in chat and ask to be unmuted. Check your device settings. Go to the device’s settings to see if your mic is enabled. Make sure you properly set up your mic in Windows and select the audio input you want on Mac. Close other programs that use your mic. Make sure other software isn’t competing for access to your microphone.

Check your app permissions. Go into your device’s app settings and ensure Zoom has permission to access your microphone. Update your device’s drivers. If you’re using Windows, go into the Device Manager to ensure your mic’s drivers are up-to-date. Reboot your device. The reason why rebooting resolves computer problems is that it closes any processes that might be interfering with hardware or software. Mute other nearby audio devices.

The status will appear in the attendee list next to the camera and microphone icon. To clear your current status, get back to your chat window, click the emoji icon again and choose Clear my status. Find the right file on the list or upload it directly from your device. Remember that the file cannot be bigger than MB. That way, only chosen messages will appear in the chat window. We also highly recommended asking another presenter to manage the chat moderation on your behalf while you deliver your presentation. If you wish to make your chat a little bit more lively, you can also enable sound notifications , show timestamps , or change the font size.

These settings can be managed by each of the users individually, so they can decide how the chat should look on their end. When a host opens breakout out room and attendees join them, each breakout room functions like it’s own zoom meeting with open permissions.
