Guenot’s post on April 20, Patricia, thanks for your reply. I have solved this issue. Please let others know how this was resolved. Ironically enough, my brother and I were experiencing the same problem , at the same time. He found the issue root and applied a fix that resolved the issue. No problems after the fix was applied. Here is what needs to happen:. Microsoft has many ways to control power options for all of the devices in one’s computer. Located deep in their software, one must find the power control and turn it off.

So here is where we found the cause to the problem of wireless network cards turning off and not being able to be turned on:. At the bottom of this list are the USB controllers. Click on the first listed ‘Universal Serial Bus’. Find the tab for ‘Power. Management”, click it.

Click in the check box labeled ‘Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power’. Click OK. Repeat this sequence for all listed USB tabs. Once all are turned off, back out to the main screen, then reboot.

Once back to the opening screen, click on the network icon in the bottom task bar. Search for available networks and click on your wireless network.

It should come up!! Again, Microsoft places power control options within their software, and don’t have to tell anyone where it is. We found it! Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
